Colina Mitchell was born on 4 October 1816 in Kilmoniveig Parish, Inverness-shire, Scotland, United Kingdom, daughter of John Mitchell (bef. 1800– ) and Mary McDiamid (bef. 1800–aft. 1816).
Colina (37) married Ewan Tolmie (33) (born about 1820 in Highland, Scotland) on 4 June 1854 in Killmallie, Argyll, Scotland. Their known son was James Ewan Tolmie (31 December 1855 – on 27 November 1936).
Colina died on 14 December 1894 in Alfred Street, Kilmore, Victoria, Australia, aged 78.
