Cassandra (Mitchell) Frisken lived in Invercargill, Southland, New Zealand.
Cassandra was born in Waikawa, Southland, when it was a gold mining town with a busy wharf. Her parents, William and Emma, had their children out of wedlock and married after Cassandra was ten years old, when the family moved to Invercargill.
Cassandra married Charles Frisken in Invercargill and they farmed in Tisbury. Her granddaughter writes:
I never knew either of my Grandfathers but Grandma Frisken stayed on her Tisbury farm until she died late 1960! I had visited her in hospital the afternoon she died, before going home to Nightcaps by bus. I remember saying to Dad "I don't think she'll last much longer!" She was gone by next morning - but Dad had phoned and warned Uncle Maurice and Aunty Marjory and probably Uncle Jack.[1]
