R V Mitchell was born on July 31, 1923 in Lucas, Scott County, Arkansas.[1] His father was John Herman Mitchell and his mother was Reva Vera Doss.[2]
Not sure if the "R V" is initials or just his first name, all records simply list him as "R V Mitchell". In 1930, R V lived in Tomlinson, Logan County, Arkansas.[2]

R V died of a sudden heart attack at his home on March 3, 1986 in Hot Springs, Garland County, Arkansas.[9] He was a graduate of Mansfield High School, State Teachers College in Conway, taught school, and was a retired salesman for Pack-Plaza Pand and Gun, formerly Albert Pike Supply Company.[10] He was buried at Coop Prairie Cemetery in Mansfield, Scott County, Arkansas.[10]
