Research Notes" (quote from American Ancestors - Great Migration Project by Anderson.) "DAVID MITCHELL, bp. Halifax 14 Novemer 1619; m. by an unknown date to Elizabeth _____ (in his will of 11 March 1685/6, he made his wife Elizabeth sole executrix. (Elizabeth Grave, daughter of George Grave of Hartford married a Mitchell, but her husband was John Mitchell of Hartford. Some secondary sources state that David married 'Sarah, daughter of Thomas Wheeler of Milford.' Thomas Wheeler of Milford did not have a daughter Sarah, but his son, John did have a daughter Sarah who married Abraham Mitchell son of David, which may have been the cause of the confusion.)"

Therefore from this source, Sarah Wheeler should be disconnected from David Mitchell.

1619 - November 14 - Baptized at South Ouram, County York, England

1685/6 - March 11 - Will Proved; Wife Elizabeth (Sole Exec'x); sons Mathhew, John, Abraham, Daniel; daus. Martha, Elizabeth, Susanna, Grace.

David Mitchell was born in England and Immigrated to the New England American Colony of Connecticut. He married Sarah Wheeler in 1653 and they were married for about 15 years when she died at the age of 41 in 1669.

Death 15 MAR 1686 Stratford, Fairfield County, Connecticut

Hi PMs,

I'm working with the Puritan Great Migration Project to clean up the profiles of the Wood/Mitchell/Butterfield families. Please note the source and the research notes I placed on this profile. According to this research, Sarah Wheeler should be disconnected as the wife of David Mitchell. His wife should be Elizabeth Unknown. Consider, please, reusing the profile of unknown unknown-146 rather than making a new profile. thanks. OR you could just disconnect Sarah Wheeler and put her in the bio as Elizabeth ___ her maiden name is unknown. Thanks.

David is 12 degrees from Kevin Bacon, 21 degrees from Robynne Lozier, 11 degrees from Pocahontas Rolfe and 16 degrees from Queen Elizabeth II Windsor on our single family tree. Login to find your connection.
