Biography

William R Mitchell was born 31 May 1896 in Chicago, Illinois.^[1] He was baptized 14 March 1897 at Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church in Chicago, Illinois.^[2]

He enlisted in the military in April 1917 and was discharged in February 1919.^[5]

He married Zelia Whitesell 28 June 1920 in Wayne Co., Indiana.^[6]
