Biography
Gerald was born 25 Sep 1904 son of William Clyde Mitcheltree and Mary Etta Beck.[1]
His parents divorced by 1920 and he was raised by his mother's second husband Harry M. Bennett,[2] whose surname he later took.
On his 21 Apr 1945 Detroit, Michigan, death record, his father was recorded as "Clyde Bennett," conflating the first name of his birth father with the surname of his adoptive father. [3]
