Madeleine Modeste Mius was born around 1742 in Baccaro, Acadie, Colony of Nova Scotia. Her parents were Charles Mius and Marie Marthe Hébert. [1]
Sheila Hubbard Macauley recorded the following in the introduction to The Hubbard Family of Nova Scotia: [2]
"Magdeleine Modeste Mius and her family had been forced to leave Nova Scotia during the Acadian Expulsion of 1755. She married first, Dominique Doucet, another Acadian refugee, sometime before 1763, probably in the Gloucester or Salem area of Massachusetts. Their names are included in a list of French who desired to go to France in August of 1763, according to records of the Canadian Archives. [3] Magdeleine Modeste was left a widow probably around 1770. It is thought that John Hubbard and Magdeleine Modeste Mius returned to Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia shortly after their marriage in 1772."
She married Dominique Doucet around 1758. [1]
Children: [4]
She married John Hubbard (O'Bird) on January 16, 1772 in Salem, Essex, Massachusetts. [5][1]
Children:
Madeleine was alive as of June 13, 1786, when she appeared in front of Rev. Fr. Joseph-Mathurin Bourg and gave consent to her daughter Anne's marriage.[6] She was alive as of September 4, 1799, when her son, Dominique's marriage was revalidated.[7]
She passed away on 10 February 1826, the record giving her about 83 years of age. Her grave was blessed on 12 July 1826. In the record, the declaration of her daughter Magdelaine (an infirm) was noted by the priest Sigogne. She explained that the widow of Jean Oburd was buried on 12 February in the cemetery of parish, in the absence of a priest. [8]
Although several family trees show her parents as Jean Baptiste Muis (brother to Charles Amand) and Marie Joseph Surette, other reliable sources from respected researchers indicate that her parents were Charles Amand Mius and Marie Marthe Hébert.

Any objections, Nina, if I remove her from these parents and propose a merge?
