In the 1880 census, Helen is Frisby's widowed mother and Melvin his older brother.
Frisby T. Moats died on 17 July 1930 and was laid to rest in the graveyard at Manor Church of the Brethren in Tilghmanton.[4]
While his age was listed in 1880 and 1900 as 28 and 49, respectively, the 1860 census agrees with his age at death as inscribed on his gravestone. However, it may be that his day of birth was later in the year than both the 1860 census and the gravestone (dated July and August, respectively), which would place his birth in 1853.
