Anna's parents as given in her death notice[2] are Jan Johs moller and Elisabeth Maria du Plessis, which is not exactly the same is in her baptism entry above, namely Johannes Jacobús Möller and Eliesebeth Hendriena Dú Plesie. Is this the wrong death notice?[6]
Research Notes
These notes were originally written by Pieter de Vos (with comments added by Riël Smit) on the profile of Möller-959]. After more sources were discovered and studied, they have concluded that Möller-959 is in fact the same person a the more correct Möller-2511, and that she never was married to Jacob de Vos. He was, in fact married to Helena Alberta (Smit) Malan.
On Jacob de Vos' WikiTree profile (De_Vos-305) after Anna Maria's name it states 'married after 1851 [location unknown] ', since his first wife, Johanna Elizabeth, died in 1851.
GISA (Geealogical Institute of South Africa) has the following information:
(b2c2) d12 Jacob * 20.9.1799 ≈ Tulbagh 17.11.1799
x Tulbagh 26.6.1825 Johanna Elizabeth HUGO † 1.2.1847
xx Anna Maria MÖLLER (wed MALAN)
But;
There is a gravestone in the churchyard of the Dutch Reformed Church in Worcester with a gravestone with the inscription of Dirk de Vos 1798-1866 and Anna Maria Möller 1812-1866 (https://graves-at-eggsa.org/main.php?g2_itemId=557105)
Marriage: 22 Jul 1847 Tulbagh, C-Prvn, S-Af. Anna Maria MÖLLER 1812–1866 • L5PM-56C.
It has Dirk's brother Jacob De Vos 1799–1854 • LHK9-MSH Marriage: 26 JUN 1825 Worcester,Cape Of Good Hope,South Africa (Rep.)
Johanna Elizabeth Hugo 1809–1851 • LHK9-MDD, with no mention of a second marriage.
Jacob had a brother Dirk, two years his senior, as given by GISA:
d11 Dirk¸ ≈ 2.10.1798 † 7.8.1866 x Tulbagh 16.9.1821 Elizabeth Margaretha (Maria) HUGO † 1.2.1847 xx Anna Maria MÖLLER (wed Van der Merwe).
Baptism and marriage dates are incorrect in the above - see De_Vos-1311 (Dirk) for links to images with correct dates. Based on those, the correct dates are:
d11 Dirk¸ ≈ 21.10.1798 † 7.8.1866 x Tulbagh 30.9.1821 Elizabeth Margaretha (Maria) HUGO † 1.2.1847 xx 22.7.1847 Anna Maria MÖLLER (wed Van der Merwe).[7]

Geni has Anna Maria de Vos (Möller), b4c1d10e3, Birthdate July 16, 1812[8] Birthplace: Tulbagh, Breede River DC, Western Cape, South Africa Death: February 11, 1866 (53), Daughter of Johannes Jacobus Möller, b4c1d10 and Elizabeth Hendrika Theron (born du Plessis), b1c5d11e1, and Wife of Daniel Petrus van der Merwe, b2c4d3e8f1 and Dirk de Vos, son of Wouter de Vos b2c1.
Geni also has: Anna Maria de Vos (Moller), Birth: 1807, Death: February 11, 1866[9] (58-59), Wife of Jacob de Vos, son of Wouter de Vos b2c1. Note, however, that the death notice[9] for the Anna that died on Feb 11, 1866 clearly states that she was the wife of Dirk de Vos (and implies a birth date of June 1812). Also, it names her parents as Jan Johannes Moller and Elisabeth Maria du Plessies, while the baptism entry[8] for what is believed to be Dirk's wife, mentioned above (its birth date is in line with that of the death notice), has the parents as Johannes Jacobus Möller and Eliesabeth Hendriena du Plesies. (Not that one can always trust parent information on old death notices.)[7]
It is of course quite possible that the two De Vos brothers both had their second marriage with two women with the same name, due to the naming convention of the time – two cousins, maybe, named after the same grandmother?
At the baptism of Jacob's son, Dirk de Vos, on 11.2.1850, a Dirk de Vos (Jacob's brother?) and Anna Moller were the witnesses.[7]
To confuse things even more, at Geni, in Jacob de Vos, a profile managed by me and some others on Geni, Jacob is given as: Husband of Johanna Elizabeth Hugo; Anna Elisabeth de Vos, d10e3 and Anna Maria de Vos.

Möller-2511 and Möller-959 appear to represent the same person because: Duidelik 'n verwarring tussen twee persone. GISA onder andere het Möller-959 foutiewelik as tweede vrou van Jacob de Vos De_Vos-305 aangedui. Möller-2511 is wel die tweede vrou van Dirk de Vos De_Vos-1311.
Moeller-429 and Möller-959 appear to represent the same person because: Same name, born same year, created by same profile manager. These are duplicate profiles with variant spelling of last name, and should be merged into one profile with the alternative spelling noted in that profile. It is proposed that Möller be the official last name as that should be consistent with spelling from that time and location.
