Hannah was born in 1827. Hannah's Pennsylvania roots extended back to Ludwig Mohler who emigrated from Switzerland to Ephrata, Pennsylvania, in 1730. Hannah married Peter Overholtzer, an itinerant Brethren minister, in the early 1850s. She dutifully followed her husband's various moves to Ohio, Illinois, California, Missouri, and Oregon. They finally settled in southern California, making Covina their final home. She was the mother of 7 children and died at the age of 83.
