FISHER - Elizabeth, daughter of Rudolph and Fannie (Etter) Mohler, was born December 2, 1877, and lived in the vicinity of Covington, Ohio all her lifetime. She was of a family of 8 children, 2 of whom survive.
On February 10, 1901, she was joined in holy wedlock with Henry G. Fisher, and they were blessed to walk the pathway of life together for over 55 years. This union was blessed with 9 children, one having died in infancy. Father also departed this life at the beginning of this year on New Year's Day.
She heeded the call of her loving Savior at the age of 19 years, and lived a pious example of a Christian life for all to behold. Her quiet, unassuming manner won her a host of friends with whom she enjoyed so much to associate, and welcome into the home. She was a good and patient mother in rearing her children, and was ever mindful of their needs in both body and soul. The welfare of others was her concern in life, and she often ministered unto those around her with a willing and loving service.
Mother and Father served the church of their choice in the office of deacon and in the ministry for many years. She will be greatly missed among the members with whom she loved to worship, and in the family and neighborhood.
As she neared the end of life, a heart affliction developed which gradually left her in a weakened condition. After an attack of this kind in 1954 she called for the anointing according to the instructions of the apostle James. She reached the end of this life's journey on the evening of April 9 and peacefully passed to the Great Beyond at the age of 79 years, 4 months, and 7 days.
Those left to mourn her departure are the children: Mary Burns, Lester, Paul, Ella Huffman, Alice Diehl, James, Anna Margaret Brumbaugh, and Calvin; 30 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, David Mohler; 1 sister, Ella Garber; besides many other relatives and friends. She has now gone into the care and keeping of the Lord who gave her life, and who is abundantly able to keep it against the day when He shall call it forth again into newness of life.
Funeral services were held in the Covington church of the Old Order German Baptist Brethren by Ministries: Cora Garber, Charles Crist, and Lee Barnhart to a house full of sympathizing members, neighbors and friends. The 90th Psalm was read and text taken from Matthew 24:44. Burial was made in Sugar Grove Cemetery.
