Biography

Jacob Molder was born on July 14, 1806, in Württemberg, Germany. He was the son of Johann Sebastian and Christina Molder. He immigrated to the United States sometime before 1840. He married Elizabeth Besey Heverland on March 17, 1845, in Richland County, Ohio. They were farmers and had three children during their marriage. He died on December 17, 1872, in Sharon Township, Richland County, Ohio, at the age of 66.

Moulder, Jacob -- Died, December 17th., 1872, at his home, three miles south of Shelby. Mr. Jacob Moulter [sic.], aged 67 years. His sufferings were of a lingering and painful character to which death came as the long desired relief.

He was a native of Germany, and was for many years a resident of this county, having participated in the hardships of pioneer life.

Religious services were held at the late residence of the deceased, after which his mortal remains received Christian burial at the Gamble grave yard, followed by the bereaved widow, son and daughter, together with numerous friends and neighbors.
