Biography

This profile is part of the St Helens, Lancashire One Place Study.

Margaret Molineux was christened on 22 Nov 1840 at the church of St Mary the Virgin in Prescot, Lancashire. She was the daughter of James and Mary Molineux. Her father's occupation was recorded as collier, and the family's address as Sutton.

By June 6th 1841, they were living in Springfield Row, Eccleston. James was a coal miner. A young couple, John and Ann Platt, were living in the same household; John was also a coal miner.

Margaret's mother died in 1849, aged 27. She was buried on 28 Aug 1849 at Prescot St Mary's; her address was recorded as Parr.

By March 30th 1851, Margaret's father James and his children were living with James' parents in Eccleston. Margaret was a scholar.
