Genealogically Defined

Charles son of Jane MOLLOY formerly SELMAR {sic} of Mint Street, Rye. Born 3rd August 1848 Rye, Sussex, England. [1]

Charles was the son of Charles LAURENCE and Jane MOLLOY late SELMES, a widow. Charles' parents married 3rd October 1849, 14 months after his birth.

Charles MOLLOY married Louisa SMITH 10th October 1869 at St. George, Deal, Kent, England. Charles MOLLOY, 22, bachelor, Bootmaker of Deal, son of Charles MOLLOY {sic} Bootmaker, and Louisa SMITH, 20, spinster of Deal, daughter of George SMITH (Carrier). Witnessed by Richard REED and Ellen MAYTUM. [2][3]

Resident at 7 Spring Gardens, Charlton, Dover, Kent, England in 1873[5]

Resident at Trafalgar Quarters, Greenwich, Kent, England 1881[6][7] where Charles was supposedly working as a shoemaker at the neighbouring Royal Naval School. He lived and worked very close to Flamsteed House which was designed in 1675 by Sir Christopher Wren and was the home to the first Royal Astronomer John Flamsteed.[8]
