James Molloy was born on 9 January 1858 in Carragh, County Kildare, Ireland, son of Margaret (Haven) Molloy and Hugh Molloy
He was baptised on 3 July 1859 at Newbridge Parish, Athgarvan, Carragh, County Kildare, Ireland.
He emigrated with his parents & siblings to New Zealand in 1863, arriving at Bluff on the ship "Edward Thornhill" on the 26 Jan 1864.
He left New Zealand for Australia because he married Elizabeth Mary Carroll in 1887 in Victoria, Australia.[1] Their children were:
James was a brickmaker.
He died in January 1929 in Lochiel, Southland, New Zealand
His remains were buried on 11 January 1929 in Riverton, New Zealand.
