William le Molyneux, or Molineux, of Sefton
William was born before 1345 (aged 21 when he took livery of his grandfather's lands in 40 Edward III ).
William's father was already dead when his grandfather, Richard le Molineux, died on 6 April 37 Edward III , while William was still a minor.
An Inquisition held in Liverpool in response to a writ issued on 4 February, 42 Edward III , found Richard Le Molyneux held in Lancaster the manor of Sefton, part of the manor of Doune Lithirlond and an interest in Thorneton, which the duke of Lancaster had received the issue of during the minority of Richard's heir, William the son of William, but that had ended on Michaelmas, 40 Edward III, when William did homage to the duke as son and heir of William.
