Biography

David is listed in the 1830 US Federal Census for Surry Co., North Carolina as a head of family. He would have been about 38 years old at this Census. His father, Jacob, would have been about 50 years old when David was born.

The 1850 US Census lists David - age 58 head of household Martha - spouse age 46 Mary - daughter age 28 Martha - daughter age 27 Nancy - daughter age 23 Rhoda - daughter age 21 James - son age 18 David (William) - son age 13 Gabriel - son age 10 (probably Gabriel Ross, son of Martha Ross and her first husband Enos Ross)
