In 1870 couple were living in their children Rachel Monk and Charles Monk. Also in the household were possibly Charles’ wife Josephine Monk and their children John Monk, Samuel Monk and Ira Monk. Also in the household was Carter Hendricks.
In 1880 Nancy Monk was living in Lebanon, Russell, Virginia. She was listed as the Mother of Lafayette Monk age 40 and his wife Rebecca Monk.

It is an open issue that needs to have further research to determine if Fayeth M Monk and Abner Monk are the children of Charles and Nancy Ann Elliott.,
They had a son Lafayette McMillian Monk, who also went by the name Fayeth according to military records.
Abner was not listed on the 1850 Census Records.
