Note: The birth dates of two of his siblings, Henry and Mary Jane Monroe, as presented by a certain online grave "finding" service are gestationally impossible vs. each other and vs. this James D. Monroe. The birth year of Henry probably was 1825; the birth data on Mary Jane should be verified.
He married 15 Jan 1852 @ Danville, New York, Pauline Louisa Avery. They had 4 children:
James D. Monroe passed away in St. Louis, Missouri, 4 Jun 1864, during service in the American Civil War. His grave is in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, Lemay, St. Louis County, Missouri, USA [1].
