His birth year is at the very latest 1768, but he's probably born several years earlier.
His daughter Elie was born in 1781. [1]
His son Mons Jørgen was born in 1785. [2]
His son Hans was born in 1788. [3]
His daughter Elen was born in 1793. [4]
The 1801 census shows him living in Bergen with his wife Thore and their children Hans and Elen. [5]
His wife Thore died in 1809. [6]
Though he is listed as Thore's husband in her death certificate, it's not certain that he himself was alive at the time. His death is thus at the earliest in 1801 after the census was completed.
