Biography

Born in Norway and raised in the Norwegian enclave of Brooklyn, at some point he moved to Philadelphia.

Alfred met his second wife Edith at the movie theatre where he was playing the piano for the "silent" films. The fact that he divorced his first wife and married Edith was something of a family scandal and the descendants of the first wife are still not speaking to the descendants of the second wife (family lore as heard by Kitty Cooper)
