Reverend Thomas John Monson was born on 28 April 1825. He was the son of Rev. Hon. Thomas John Monson and Sarah Wyvill. He married Hon. Caroline Isabella Monckton, daughter of William George Monckton, 5th Viscount Galway and Catherine Elizabeth Handfield, on 25 March 1856. He died on 23 July 1887 at age 62.
