Father Sir John Montacute, 8th Earl of Salisbury, 2nd Baron of Montacute & Monthermer, Deputy Earl Marshal of England b. c 1351, d. 7 Jan 1400

Sir Thomas de Montagu, Lord Montagu, 4th Earl Salisbury, Count of Alencon & Perche, Lord of Auvilliers, Courville, La Rivière-Thibouville, La Fertè-Frênel, & Neubourg, Lt. Gen. of Normandy & Maine, Governor of Champagne & Brie was born between January 1388 and March 1388; Age 12 in 1400, & 24 in 1415.[1]

He was christened in March 1388 at Shenley, Hertfordshire, England.[2]

He married Eleanor Holand, daughter of Sir Thomas Holand, 2nd Earl Kent, Lord Holland, 6th Lord Wake, Lord Woodstock, Marshal of England and Alice FitzAlan, circa 23 May 1399; They had 2 daughters (Alice, wife of Sir Richard Neville, 5th Earl of Salisbury; & Joan).[3]

He married Alice Chaucer, daughter of Thomas Chaucer, Esq., Speaker of the House, Chief Butler to King Richard II & Henry IV and Maud Burghersh, before June 1424; No issue.[4]

He died on 3 November 1428 at Meung-sur-Loire, Beaugency, Loiret, Centre, France; d.s.p.m. Died of wounds suffered at the siege of Orleans. Buried at Bisham Priory, Berkshire.[5]
