Alessandro Montessori was the father of Maria Montessori.[1][2]
He married Renilda Stoppani in 1866.[3]
Alessandro was sent to Chiaravalle in 1865 by the Ministry of Finance, and by 1870 was employed at a tobacco works in the town.[4] His daughter was born into a lower middle class family.
Marriage
Alessandro was a widow at the time of his marriage to Renilde. His former spouse was Maria Cavallazzi. He was 32 at the time of the marriage to Renilde. His father was alive but his mother was already deceased. His father was living in Bologna.[5]
