Sadie Jane Montgomery, daughter of James Edward Montgomery and Kathryn Jane Brakeman, was born 26 Jun 1873 in Chester MM, Delaware, Pennsylvania.^[1]

Sadie married married George Albert Miller on 27 Dec 1892, in Lexington, Dawson County, Nebraska.^[2]

2 Gooding Women Observe 100 Years

Mrs. Sadie Jane Miller (Montgomery) was born June 26, 1873, in Chester, Pa. Mrs. Miller's family moved to Lexington, Neb., in 1879, where her father, a Civil War veteran, was awarded some land. She was 6 years old at the time and lived in a sod house.

In 1892 she was married to George Albert Miller in Lexington. They moved to Oregon in 1905 and lived in Amity until 1915 when they came to Camas Prairie, Fairfield, where Mr. Miller farmed. After two years the Millers moved to a farm near Gooding. Sadie had six children, four of whom are now living, Fern Baxter, Albany, Ore.; Welliver Miller, Gooding; John Miller, Boise, and Robert Miller, Gooding. She has 14 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, 45 great-great-grandchildren and two great-great-great-grandchildren.

Her husband died in 1942. According to her son, Welliver, Mrs. Miller led an active life and rode horseback until she was 60 years old. She still attends the United Methodist Church every Sunday, he said. An open house was held in her honor Sunday at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Welliver Miller and 34 members of the family attended. Both women (her and Inez Stevenson) received birthday congratulations from Sens. Frank Church and James McClure and Rep. Orval Hansen, and Arthur Hess, commissioner of Social Security.

At the time of the article, she was living in Green Acres Terrace Nursing Home, in Gooding Oregon.^[3]
