Biography

John Montgomery was born about 1730 in Virginia. As a young man, in the 1750s, he moved south to the Camden District near the South and North Carolina border.

He married a woman, whose name is Unknown. They had at least one son:

  1. William Montgomery, b: 1754 in Camden Dist., South Carolina.

Nothing more about his wife is known at present.

Later in life, John Montgomery moved south with his son and family to Hancock County, Georgia. He died in Sparta, Hancock County, Georgia, in 1785.
