Laurel Leader Call, 16 Jun 1969 - Loy A. Montgomery, 63, of Brandenton, FL died unexpectedly Sat., at his home in FL of an apparent heart attack. Was born in Laurel, MS. He was the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. W. N. Montgomery. He attended & graduated from Laurel Public Schools; was a Deacon of Hillsdale Bapt. Church, Hillsdale, MI until retiring. He moved to FL 2 years ago & was Mason & Rotarian. Body will arrive noon Tues., & services will be at 2:30 pm at Laurel Bapt. Church with burial in Hickory Grove Cem.. Survivors: widow, Marjorie Bucklow Montgomery; son: Reginald A. Montgomery-Brandton, FL; sis: Mrs. Gladys Watson-Laurel; 4 granddaughters & a host of nieces & nephews.[3]
