Dudley was born in 1830. He was the son of Hugh Montgomery and Mary Johnson.

Dudley was married January 13, 1848 to Mary Baty. ^[1]

They were the parents of :

1. James T Montgomery 1850-1902
2. Robert Montgomery 1854-1923

In 1877 Mary died in Pike County, Indiana.

He married Nancy Beck in 1880.

He passed away in 1902. Buried in Black Foot Cemetery
