Samuel Noel Montgomery married Lucinda Frances "Fannie" Overstreet on January 5, 1861. Samuel lost a leg while felling a tree. Story in newspaper was Samuel took his dog to work, when the accident happened the dog sensed something wrong and went home to alert family members. Samuel was a preacher. His name appears frequently on marriage records in Boyle County, Kentucky. Fire destroyed residence and blacksmith shop. Fire started in blacksmith shop. Rev. Montgomery has been crippled for several years. This appeared in Danville Newspaper April 18, 1913. Samuel was a very old and respected citizen when he died. He died at the home of his son James Franklin Montgomery. Born 9 JAN 1840. boyle co. kentucky.
