Esther Montgomery was born 4 Feb 1755 in Augusta (now Wythe) County, Virginia, the tenth child of John Montgomery and Ann Agnes Crockett.[1] In 1877, at about age 22, she married her cousin Robert Montgomery Jr, and they raised a large family.[2] Among their children are:[3]
In 1782, the family relocated to what would become (in 1797) Garrard County, Kentucky. Esther died on 8 Jul 1843, but burial details are unknown.

Sources
↑ David Montgomery (1903, p. 283-284) does not give a date of birth for Esther, but does confirm her birth in (what is today) Wythe County. Her date of birth is found in Monty Hist Notes, but the original source is unknown.
↑ David Montgomery (1903, p. 284) says of her only that she "married a Crockett or a Montgomery". Marriage date and spouse are found in Monty Hist Notes.
↑ Monty Hist Notes lists only these, minus William. Additional children are listed at FamilySearch, but are unconfirmed by documentation.
↑ Ann's birth date is disputed. If she was at least 26 in 1810 (as suggested by the 1810 census), she would have had to be born in 1784. FamilySearch has her born in 1778, which seems unlikely given that her husband was born in 1792. Monty Hist Notes puts her birth at 1789; and the Pipes family site says 1788.
