Biography
Jane was born May 22, 1797 in Halifax, Halifax County, Nova Scotia to Thomas J. and Catherine Moody (also spelled Moodie in some records).
She married George Burgess in St. Paul's Church, Halifax, Nova Scotia on the 29th of November 1826. They had four children, Ann, George,James and Catherine.
She died September 7th, 1833 and is buried in St. Paul's Church Cemetery, Halifax, Nova Scotia. Written in a 1833 Halifax Journal, Jane's death was reported as Consort of George Burgess, a Miller at Stewiacke Mills, in her 37th year.
