Biography

Lillie Mae Moody was born 13 October 1890., daughter of "Bing" (born AUG 1884 in Missouri) and (?) Moody.

28 June 1900, she was 10 years old and lived with her father, Bing, and step-mother, Bettie, in Harrison Township Judsonia town, White, Arkansas. Her brother, Willie, and sister, Edith were also in the household. Her father owned a sawmill.

25 November 1909, at the age of 19, Lillie Mae Moody married C. E. Jett in Bald Knob Twp., White Co., Arkansas. The ceremony was officiated by H. F. Blevins, Minister of the Gospel.

29 April 1910, The newlywed couple had no children and were living with Lillie's paternal grandmother Hanna S. Moody. His in-laws lived next to or very near their address in Bald Knob, White Co., Arkansas. Charles was 35 and proprietor of a restaurant,

2 January 1920, the Jett family lived in the same community where Charles was a merchant in the grocery business. Lillie and Charles had three children: Ralph E.--5; Emma L.--3 2/12; and William B.--11 mos. . 7 April

1930--Aged 55 and 39, the Jetts lived on Elm St. and Charles was still in the grocery business. Lillie Mae is listed as "May." Jett children in the household: Ralph--15; Bing--11; Louise--13 and Earl--6.

18 October 1931, her husband, Charles, passed away.

8 April 1940, Mae was widowed and 49 and lived at East 92nd St. in Ward 21, Cleveland City, Cleveland City, Cuyahoga, Ohio, where she had lived at least since 1 April 1935. Her children Louise, Bing and Earl were in her household, as well as a lodger--Don Ryder--23. 23 year-old Louise was an apprentice artist at a retail department store. Bing, at 21, was a stock clerk for a restaurant. Earl, aged 16, worked as a waiter in a school lunch room. Don Ryder was a shipping clerk for a hotel.

She passed away 3 December 1971, at the age of 81.
