William was born in 1867. He was the son of John Moody and Laura Tabb. His grandfather was a member of the North Carolina Senate for several years and a member of the Secession Convention of 1861. He was elected to the House of Representatives on November 5, 1907 for a term of office that began January 1908. He passed away in 1913, and was buried at Friendship Cemetery, Columbus, Lowndes County, Mississippi.[1][2]
Cobb's Switch and Bent Oak are the same place. The Moody family owned property until 1930. The property was on the railroad between Colombus and Artesia. Half brother, John Mason Moody IV (b. Apr. 11, 1881 - d. Dec. 29, 1931) served as switchman.
