Biography

Ross was born in Bordertown, South Australia during 1911. He is the son of Ernest Walker Moody and Matilda Ruth Moody. He passed away in Somerton Park, South Australia during 1976.

Ross was born in Bordertown, South Australia on 4 November 1911.[1] The following birth notice was published in the South Australian newspaper, The Advertiser, on 11 November 1911:[2]

MOODY.—On the 4th November, at Nurse, Fry's hospital, Bordertown, to Mr. and Mrs. Ernest W. Moody, of "Kersnook," Mundalla—a son (Ross Selwyn).

Ross married Marion Ulissa Puxton in Glenelg, South Australia on 14 March 1936.[3] The following "approaching marriage" notice was published in the South Australian newspaper, The Chronicle, on 12 March 1936:[4]

MOODY—PUXTON.—The marriage of Marion U, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.C. Puxton, of Glenelg, to Ross S., only son of the late Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Moody, of Brighton, will be solemnised in the Glenelg Congregational Church on Saturday, 14th March, at 7.30 p.m.

Ross served in the Australian Army during the Second World War. He enlisted in North Brighton, South Australia on 6 January 1942, and was discharged with the rank of Private in the 2nd Battalion, Volunteer Defence Corps on 22 October 1945.[5]

Ross died in South Australia on 6 January 1976 at the age of 64 years.[6]

Ross' remains were cremated at the Centennial Park Cemetery in Pasadena, South Australia on 8 January 1976.[7]
