"Mr. John Moody and his family occupied the homestead of his father at Sissiboo. While on a visit to friends in New York and Elizabethtown, New Jersey, he was drowned by the capsizing of a ferry boat in a collision on the North River. All aboard were lost. His widow died at "Bona Vista," Yarmouth on 4 Nov 1857, aged 90 years."
