Biography

Barbara Moomaw, daughter of John Moomaw, was born on December 20,1783 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. She was married to Joseph Beath on April 27, 1727, in Botetourt Co., VA by Edward Mitchell. In 1830 they were living in Paint Twp., Ross Co, OH, near the Grays and next door to Henry Moomaw (whose wife was Anna Gray). Barbary is shown with 1 male between 10-15, 2 males between 15-20, 1 female between 15-20, 1 female between 40-50 1830. She passed away sometime after 1850 and her burial details is unknown but she most likely is buried in Ross County, Ohio. [1]

The battle has often been overshadowed by events from the Mexican–American War, But the Alamo gradually became known as a national battle site and later named an official Texas State Shrine.
