Biography

Barbary Moon was born after 15 March 1777 in Exeter, Washington County, Rhode Island, daughter of Asa Moon (1739–1806) and Deborah Babcock (1739–1794).[1]

Her siblings were:

  2. Isbel Moon (~1766–1775)
  3. Asa Moon (1772–1842)
  4. Jesse Moon (1774–1840)
  5. Cyntha Moon (~1780–1806)

Barbary (19) married James Montgomery (28) (born in Voluntown, New London, Connecticut Colony; son of John Montgomery and Sarah (Dickson) Montgomery) about 1797 in Vermont, United States. Their known son was Archibald Frank Montgomery (1818–1887).

Barbary died about 5 October 1838 in Freetown Corners, Cortland County, New York, USA, aged 61. She was buried in Galatia Cemetery, Galatia, Cortland County, New York.[1]
