Biography

Frank Moon the son of William & Hannah Moon was born in or about Rolvendon in Kent England in November 1836.

Frank Moon immigrated to Australia with his family at the age of 2 as a Bounty Immigrant on The Maitland in 1838.

Frank Moon a shoemaker by trade married Matilda Kershaw in about 1857 at or about Braidwood in southern New South Wales, Australia. They would have two children before Matilda's unfortunate death in complications from childbirth in 1860.

Frank Moon would then go on to marry Eliza Gregory the step daughter of local Post Master George Knight in November 1861, at or about Ulladulla in New South Wales, Australia.

While raising Frank's 2 children from his first marriage, Frank and Eliza would also go on to have at least 8 children of their own; between 1862 and 1873.

Frank Moon was a keen and active cricketer and Temperance League member in the Bega and Ulladulla areas of southern New South Wales.

After Eliza's death in 1874 also as a result of complications in childbirth Frank went on to marry at least 2 more times before his death in probably 1924 (I will check and confirm this). He had fathered at least 10 children and was generally highly regarded by all.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Frank by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Frank:
