Trying to confirm/find records to my Ancestors. Some info I have are from other people's trees and there are no records to back up the info. I would like to have facts attached to my tree. From what I have found the Mauney's came over on the Ship Lydia from Switzerland to PA.
Lots of records on Mckathan or Mckethan, but Smith kind of difficult. William Grady "Boy" Smith's mother was Josephine Gibson 1854, was said to be of Indian descent. Billy Edward Gibson 1807 possible father
I am struggling finding info for my mothers Dad. Alonzo Williams B:1867 in Pike Alabama. From relatives comments he was adopted into the Williams family his biological father name may have been "Senn". I found a census record when he was 4 that stated his name as Alonzo Knowles, all others have him as Williams. I have not found anything else.....brick wall. May have to go research Pike Co. records.
