Biography
Uncertainties exist about the name of the wife of Samuel Denton, born circa 1739. Samuel did not serve in the military during the American Revolutionary War, but is honored for his Patriotic Services by the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Applications for membership in the Society of the DAR had been made by his children, including one Martha Denton, who married a Samuel Denton, but this has been disproven.
DAR does not give the name of Samuel's wife, but does give two children: Samuel Denton, Jr. who married Elizabeth Chastain and Rebecka Denton, who married Benjamin Chastain. [1]
