Mary Moore (299M-24R), who married William Templeton, appears to have been confused with Mary Captive Constance Moore (G9M4-BXS). The father of the latter was killed and scalped by Indians in March of 1758, His wife and children were taken captive to Canada. They were later ransomed in 1762. Mary (G9M4-BXS) would have been about 5 years old.
Mary (G9M4-BXS) married Israel Scott Hooker on 12 August 1778 in Putney, Vermont. He died in 1846. She died in 1884 in Lysander, New York.
Mary (299M-24R) married William Templeton about 1784. He died in 1839 in Montpelier, Vermont. The two women cannot be the same person because both Hooker and Templeton were alive at the time.
Based on an obituary in the Vermont Watchman and State Journal, Mary Moore (299M-24R) died on 16 April 1845 and was 85 years old. This provides a birth date of about 1760. The other Mary (G9M4-BXS) was born 07 December 1757 in Vermont.
