Bernard was born about 1725. He passed away about 1775.
Bernard Moore, was the son of Colonel Augustine Moore, of "Chelsea", King William County, and Elizabeth Todd, his wife. He was a justice and colonel of the millitia in King William County, and was burgess for the county from 1744 to 1758 and from 1761 to 1772. He married Anna Katherine Spotswood, daughter of Governor Alexander Spotswood and was father of Augustine Moore. Virginia Biography, pg 294. [1]
Bernard Moore is buried at the Chelsea Plantation in West Point, King William, Virginia. There is no surviving grave marker.[2]
Anne Catherine Spotswood (1728 - c. 1802), who married Col. Bernard Moore, Esq., of Chelsea, King William Co., Va, a gentleman seventh in descent from Sir Thomas More, of Chelsea, England, the author of Utopia, and was an ancestor of Robert E. Lee and Helen Keller.[3]
