Lt. Joseph Moore served in the 18th Regt. of the Conn. Militia commanding at least four other members of his extended family.[4] He was taken prisoner during the during the Revolutionary War and died on November 3, 1776 while in captivity in New York.[5][3] He probably died on the infamous British Prison Ship Jersey.[6][3][7][8][9][10][11]
Joseph’s name appears on Simsbury‘s Revolutionary War Memorial to those who gave all. [12]Buried: Joseph is buried at the Baptist Cemetery, Granby, Hartford County, Connecticut, USA. [2]
