Isaac Taylor Moore was born in 1860 in Bibb County, AL, the youngest of the 13 known children of Jonathan Moore and Mary Ann King. On 30 Nov 1879 he married Elizabeth Caroline "Bettie" Mitchell.
In the 1880 census of Bibb Co, AL, Taylor and Bettie are shown living with his parents and his sister Nancy. In the 1900 census they are living on their own farm in Perry Co, AL with six children; the oldest daughter Fannie had already married and moved away. In 1910 they are still living in the same location and have added two more children to the family. By 1920, only two of their children were still living at home. Bettie died in 1929, and in 1930 Taylor is shown living with his daughter Ollie Moore Graves and her family. He died in 1931.
Taylor Moore started the Taylor Moore School in the North Perry area of Perry County so that his grandchildren would have a place to go to school. He also donated land for Mt Ivah Methodist Church and Cemetery, where he and his wife are buried.
