William was born October 16, 1923 in Alicia, Lawrence, Arkansas, United States.[1] His parents were Benjamin Franklin Moore and Opha May (Conley) Moore.[2]
In 1930, six year old William (shown as William R) lived in Liberty, Independence, Arkansas, United States with his paternal grandfather William G (age 75), grandmother Elnora (age 65), father Ben F (age 44), mother May Moore (age 29), and brother Harry E (age 3).[3]
In 1940, sixteen year old William (shown as Ranzy W) lived in Liberty, Independence, Arkansas, United States with his father Ben F (age 58), mother May O (age 39), and siblings Harry E (age 14), Alice E (age 9), and Loy F (age 4). A servant, Irene A Wallace (age 32) and her children Mary E Wallace (age 14) and Jackie L Wallace (age 10) also lived with the family.[4]
When William registered for the World War II draft on June 30, 1942, he was self employed and his nearest relative was B F Moore (his father). He was 5' 11" tall, weighed 215 lbs., and had gray eyes and brown hair.[1]
William married Dorthie Weatherley July 8, 1945 in Jackson County, Arkansas, United States[5] and they had at least three children[2] (see Notes).
William lived in Lonoke County, Arkansas, United States when he died[6] January 27, 1973 in Butlerville, Lonoke, Arkansas, United States. He was buried in the Butlerville Cemetery in Butlerville, Lonoke, Arkansas, United States beneath a stone shared with his wife Dorthie.[2]
