There is no record of this marriage in the Sudbury records., but it is adequately proven by Lydia's father's references in his Will and by court cases regarding fornication between Joseph Moore and Lydia Maynard.
"Liddia, w. Joseph, d. on Nov. 23, 1717" at Sudbury.
Joseph's second wife, Ruth, is not mentioned in his Will, dated 1 Jan 1718/19, so it is assumed that he married after drawing up the Will.
A "Joseph Moore & Ruth Starr were married 21st --- 3rd month by John Endicott Govr." at Boston, but, given the date, 1656, Joseph would have been only nine years of age, so this can't be the correct marriage date. Also, I cannot find any source for the last name "Starr," and I think it was mistakenly taken from the 1656 marriage of a Ruth Starr to a different Joseph Moore.[Watt-266|Watt-266]] 14:16, 25 April 2014 (EDT)
