Joseph Moore

"Morres, (see Moor, Moore, Moors, More), Joseph, s. John and Elizabeth, Oct. 21, 1647" at Sudbury, Middlesex, Massachusetts[1]

02 JAN 1725/6 Sudbury, Middlesex, Massachusetts[2]

Husband: Joseph Moore
Wife: Lydia Maynard
Date: before 14 APR 1669
Place: probably Sudbury, Middlesex, Massachusetts[3][4]
There is no record of this marriage in the Sudbury records.[5], but it is adequately proven by Lydia's father's references in his Will and by court cases regarding fornication between Joseph Moore and Lydia Maynard.[6]
"Liddia, w. Joseph, d. on Nov. 23, 1717" at Sudbury.[7]

Husband: Joseph Moore
Wife: Ruth Starr
Date: about 1718
Place: Massachusetts[8]
Joseph's second wife, Ruth, is not mentioned in his Will, dated 1 Jan 1718/19, so it is assumed that he married after drawing up the Will.[9]
A "Joseph Moore & Ruth Starr were married 21st --- 3rd month [1656] by John Endicott Govr." at Boston,[10] but, given the date, 1656, Joseph would have been only nine years of age, so this can't be the correct marriage date. Also, I cannot find any source for the last name "Starr," and I think it was mistakenly taken from the 1656 marriage of a Ruth Starr to a different Joseph Moore.[Watt-266|Watt-266]] 14:16, 25 April 2014 (EDT)
