Barbara retired from the K-Mart Corp. She was an active member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She accepted Christ at an early age. She was baptized at the Union Chapel Baptist Church, Waskom, TX under the leadership of the late Claude G. Douglas - she sang in the Junior and Youth Choirs. She attended school in Caddo Parrish, LA. She graduated from Central High in Waskom, TX, as well as the Madam C.J. Walker College of Cosmetology, Dallas, TX. She met and married Sgt. Albert James Jr. To this union was born 3 children, Janet K. James (son-in-law, Deke James), Karen Faye James, Allen D. James (daughter-in-law, Laverne James). She also leaves to mourn 3 brothers, L.J. Moore, Richmond, CA, Edward Moore, Oakland, CA, Otis Moore, Richmond, CA; 4 sisters, Eleanor Dickens, Richmond, CA, Ruby Glover, Richmond, CA, Olevia D. Lacy, El Paso, TX, Gladys (Moore) Howard, Dallas, TX. Barbara was the proud grandmother of Nicole R. James, Roslyn M. James, Alyssia A. James, Cameron A. James, Teague D. James. She also leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was preceded in death by sisters, Hannah Abercombie, Lodis Anderson; brothers, Curtis Moore, Handy Moore, Jr. Barbara's favorite scripture: I sought the Lord and He heard me and delivered me from all my fears. Psalms 34:4. Favorite song: He Knows Just What I Want'. Visitation Fri., March 22, 1996, 1-7 p.m., Fir Lane Funeral Home, 924 East 176th St., Spanaway, WA 98387. 531-6600. Funeral services will be held Sat., March 23, 1996, 2:30 p.m. at Fir Lane Memorial Chapel.
