Sybil or Sibil Moors was born in 1783 in Groton, Massachusetts to John Moors and Hannah Sawtell Moors. They eventually settled in Mount Holly, Vermont.
She married Nathan Bailey, son of Daniel Bailey and Sarah Mudgett Bailey, in 1808. The couple had children - including Sophronia (Sally), Maria, Emily, Ebenezer, John Harrison, Hannah, Sarah Ann, and Daniel Gale Bailey.
Sybil Moors Bailey died in Fletcher, Vermont in 1840 at 56 years of age. She was buried in the Bailey Cemetery; her headstone reads: "Sibyl wife of Nathan Bailey died 23 Feb 1840 aged 56 years Behold my friends as you pass by, As you are now so once was I, as I am now, you so must be, Prepare for death and follow me."
