John Moores was born to Edmund Moors at Hinton House, Hants, Christ Church, England, in 14 Apr 1732. He married Lydia Smith in Fogo in 1755[1].
John was one of the first European settlers in Twillingate, Newfoundland, and may be the Moore of Back Harbour mentioned in FIRST SETTLERS AT TWILLINGATE, And Their Conflicts with the Red Indians. By A. A. Parsons.[2]. Certainly he was a signatory on several later community letters[3][4].
