Born 27 OCT 1922. Archer County, Texas, United States. [1] [2] [3] Obit 4 JUL 1985. Note: Fred W. Morath, 62, of Abilene, Texas died Thursday at Hendrick Medical Center there. Rosary was said at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Funeral Mass was at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Abilene with the Rev. Alvin Wilde, pastor officiating, was assisted by Rev. Jim Lynes, pastor of St. Vincent Palotte Catholic Church and the Rev. Bart Landwermeyer of Windthorst. Burial was at Elmwood Memorial Park. Mr. Morath was born October 27, 1922 in Scotland. He attended school in Windthorst and received his bachelors degree from Midwestern State University in 1950. He married Loyce Scott, December 27, 1949 in Davis, Oklahoma. He moved to Abilene from Wichita Falls in 1964, he was a WW II veteran and a member of the Knights of Columbus, West Texas Oil & Gas Association and the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Abilene. Survivors include his wife, Loyce, two sons, David of Abilene and Stephen of Arlington, his parents, Mr. & Mrs. William Morath of Scotland, four brothers, Robert, Louis, George and James all of Wichita Falls, two sisters Jane Berardi and Nancy Berend both of Wichita Falls and their grandchildren, Jennifer, Kristena and Scott Morath of Abilene. Buried Abilene, Taylor County, Texas, United States.
